Fabrizio Costantini

Cinematographer, Director of Photography, and Photographer.

With 20 years of commercial cinematography and photography experience, Fabrizio Costanini has captured advertising and promotional campaigns for Ford, Honda, GM, Acura and Genesis. His work has been featured in numerous publications including The New York Times, Rolling Stone and The Wall Street Journal. He has photographed world leaders in intimate settings such as Barack Obama, Dali Lama and captured history making events such as Pope John Paul II’s funeral at The Vatican for the NYT. Fabrizio is known for his expertise shooting and lighting vehicles, having shot numerous product library catalogs for General Motors early in his career.

Born in Detroit, Fabrizio’s career began at age of sixteen as a beat photographer capturing on film the Detroit nightlife and counterculture scene for Orbit Magazine. After graduating college with a degree in photography, he studied at the International Center of Photography in Manhattan under the instruction of Pulitzer Prize winner David Turnley. Fabrizio went on to work for the Detroit Free Press and soon after worked regularly for The New York Times, where his photos were featured on the front page above the fold over a dozen different occasions. Being a Canon 5D shooter, he was soon swept into the New York Times first steps into the creation of their video own department and was brought in to help establish the new video workflow

It is during this time at the New York Times he captured the attention of Oscar award-winning filmmaker Michael Moore on his feature films, Capitalism a Love Story and Fahrenheit 11/9. He has since filmed for many acclaimed documentary directors such as Barak Goodman, Geeta Gandbhir, Fisher Stevens. One constant that persisted was the continuous filming of vehicles for the insatiable automotive industry.

“In 2011 I started a film production company called Trillium Production Co. where together with some of the most talented crew in the nation, we produce the highest quality and harmonious content with staggering efficiency. I take a great deal of pride in lighting vehicles and knowing how to shoot cars and sheet metal. Over the many years of working in studios lighting cars from GM product library, to Ford F150, Superduty and Lightning, Honda, Acura in the studios and deserts of Los Angeles, Polestar and Genesis in Manhattan. I feel most joy and confidence lighting and filming vehicles. Filming in the most efficient and safe manor wether static or moving about.” - Fabrizio Costantini
